About the experience
The Făgăraș Mountains, also known as the Transylvanian Alps, form the largest and most spectacular mountain range in the Carpathians. Here you will find Romania’s highest peaks, impressive alpine ridges, glacial lakes and some of the country’s wildest landscapes.
Crossing the main ridge of the Făgăraș Mountains is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging hikes in the Carpathians. During this five-day adventure, you will follow the alpine section of the ridge, remaining at an altitude of over 2,000 metres for most of the journey.
Together with Cristina Cucu, a certified mountain guide, you will explore some of the most spectacular areas of the mountain range, climb iconic peaks such as Negoiu and Moldoveanu, and discover places accessible only to those who choose to spend several days in the heart of the mountains.
Throughout the journey, we will camp in remote and spectacular locations, far from the crowds, with opportunities to admire sunrises, sunsets and sweeping alpine views stretching to the horizon. Each stage of the route offers a different perspective on Romania’s highest mountain range and the wilderness that has made the Făgăraș Mountains famous.
Moments and places you will discover
