About the experience

This scenic flight is designed for those who want to discover one of Romania’s most remarkable natural attractions, either on their own or with friends and family. The experience begins at Piatra Craiului Aerodrome in Zărnești with a short safety briefing conducted by the pilot.

The route covers several important landmarks, including Râșnov Fortress, one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in Romania, and Brașov, whose historic centre can be admired from above. The flight then continues over the hills of Măgura Codlei before heading directly towards Lake Sfânta Ana, Romania’s only volcanic crater lake.

Located at an altitude of approximately 950 metres, the lake is surrounded by forests, while its distinctive shape and colour are best admired from above. On the return journey, you will also fly over the Bear Sanctuary near Zărnești before landing at the aerodrome.

The flight lasts approximately 90 minutes and can be scheduled throughout the year, subject to suitable weather conditions.
